For mixes and masters, anything from within 24 hours to 1 week upon starting the project. Total time needed is dependent on project size, scope and my availability. If you would like an estimate on lead time, I would be happy to provide that for you. Oh, and I’ve never missed a deadline.

We go until its done and not a step sooner. As far as I’m concerned, revisions are a part of the service you are already paying for. You need to be able to A/B test ideas or explore new creative territory with freedom, especially if you are a remote client. I’m confident in my abilities, and therefore getting it right the first…. or third time.

I can record you in a cemetery or abandoned bottle factory if that’s the kind of thing you’re into. As long the cops don’t show up and wreck all my gear.
In other words, I’m an expert at DIY recording. -
YES! As long as that studio is friendly/accommodating to freelancers like me.

Most venues will provide you a recorded multi track of the set for a small fee, ideally recorded pre-fader. Please make sure these stems are provided AS RECORDED with no additional processing.
If this is a DIY show, you probably don’t have access to large expensive mixing consoles with many channels. If possible, kick and snare, guitar cab, bass DI, and vocal mic stems are all I really need to get the job done.
If you or a friend have a camera or field recorder, have them set up about 10ft away from the stage and we can also get a nice image of the space you played in.

Live recordings contrary to popular belief, are actually EASIER to handle than studio recordings! Mainly because there are far fewer tracks to manage. There aren’t random guitar takes from 10 different amplifiers flying in and out of the mix at any given moment. The lower track count and lower amount of required automation cuts down the workload significantly.

I’m an artist turned engineer, and I approach every session from that perspective. Its my job to stay out of your way but help when and where I can. I deeply care about the quality of the project and the satisfaction of the musicians making it. I’m collaborative, great at taking requests/criticism, focused, and creative. I also enjoy transparency and LOVE to talk about what I’m doing. So if you are an aspiring engineer or just want to know what is going on, it would be my delight to answer any questions you may have!

Experience isn’t everything. Its important, but its not everything. There are individuals who have been working in this industry for decades who ship recordings and mixes regularly that make my friend’s bands sound unprofessional OR more commonly, like something they are not.
Time in the chair doesn’t buy you the ear for the smallest of details or the patience to see someone’s vision through to the end. It also doesn’t buy you humility in regards to judging what sounds good and what doesn’t. Especially if you’ve convinced yourself you have better things to do.
A good result requires everyone to be on their A-game 100% of the time, and I do not pick and choose who gets my best. I’m always trying to improve my craft and deliver better and better results for my clients.

This 30% discount exists because its important to me that great artists get to share their music with the world. It’s even more important to me that it sounds good. Recording and releasing professional, well recorded, mixed and mastered music cannot be for only the bourgeoisie or the privileged classes, and it cannot be reserved solely for the beneficiaries of a patriarchal and ableist system. The music industry consistently fails that mandate at every level of operation, and actively discriminates against people who I consider my peers and friends on a daily basis. I live and struggle with chronic illness, so this fight is very personal for me. Giving back to my community is the least I can do.

They are in many ways the lifeblood of the local music scene, and documenting the PNW’s live music scene is a passion of mine. Everyone benefits when more talented audio and video people work together, especially the artists.
